Enjoy! Alice Shields, Delia Derbyshire & Clara Rockmore...

Ahh. I'm fresh from a sinfully long night's sleep and reeling from the "8 hours ahead from the UK to Los Angeles" jetlag...I sit here armed with some wonderful footage from our trip that I'm so very excited to share with everyone!
But first, check out these clips from funknroll on YouTube. These informative videos feature the music of Delia Derbyshire & Alice Shields and show clips of the many female heros of electronic music such as Daphne Oram, Elizabeth Parker and Elaine Radigue! Be sure to click on the info columns by the videos as they are a great read and offer more wonderful links like this one to the wonderful Malaria!. I personally am smitten with Alice Shields' gem from 1968, "Study for Voice and Tape". Listen to her soaring mezzo soprano as it surfs the peaks and valleys of the swirling sinister soundscapes!

Now its movie time via funknroll on YouTube...

Nothing eases disorientation of jetlag like a big beautiful bubbly "sonic tweakscape" from a few of the first ladies of electronic music! See you in a bit - avocados on sprouted wheat toast plus a big cuppa coffee beckons. Let's pop on some music while we cook...a bit of Clara Rockmore to ease in the morning, perhaps?
