Optigan Love from Optigan.com and GForce Software! Lush.

Hello fellow Optiganers (psst - "Optiganer" is actually Pea Hicks at Optigan.com's word...I can't take credit)! I have some very fine news for those of you that cant resist anythng that concerns the swoopy, swirly world of the Optigan in all its Kit-Kat keyed glory!

New "Musique Concrete" Disc from Optigan.com
Pea Hicks of Optigan.com announced February 2nd that they are creating a new Optigan disc called "Musique Concrete". Optigan.com is accepting submissions from "Opriganers everywhere" to submit their works for consideration on this exciting project…here's a bit more from Mr. Hicks himself:

"In December 2010 we plan to release an experimental Optigan disc called “Musique Concrète,” which will essentially be a collage of 57 sound loops in the tradition of early electronic studio tape music.
We’re completely disregarding the Optigan paradigm of chords and keys, and simply assigning a different abstract sound loop to each chord button and key. We thought that the most interesting approach for this disc would be to invite Optiganers everywhere to submit sound loops of their own making (please, no samples from commercial or copyrighted sources), from which we’ll choose the best for inclusion on the disc"

The deadline is November 1st, 2010. Fantastic, yes? Now's your chance to merge your Delian and Optiganal love!
PS - Also, buy the "Minimalism" Optigan disc featuring Tara Busch here on Optigan.com.

    The OptiTron from GForce Software

As you surely know, GForce is one of the most brilliant music software companies around, and I use it constantly - the Oddity, Virtual String Machine, The Minimonsta and of course, my favorite, The M-Tron Pro. The M-Tron Pro is a brilliant chisel to add to any Mellotron lover's toolbox! And much to my excitement, They have just released their tasty OptiTron Expansion pack for M-Tron Pro! Here on the website, you will find some wonderful history behind the making of this fantastic plug in. I love the fact that you can reverse and "stack multiple discs", as well.

Check out these videos about the OptiTron.

I will soon be firing up a new project featuring this tasty new instrument - stay tuned for my adventures in Opti- Tronica! ( I must stop making up geeky words. Unless you have a better suggestion….)

So, indulge in some Optiginal bliss with Optigan.com & G-Force. You know it's good for you.
